Maia Ettinger #14
What does being a powerful woman mean to you?
Being a powerful woman means being able to stand up for what I believe in and being able to advocate for myself and for others!
What is something you have done, overcome, created, or accomplished that makes you proud?
A piece of theatre I was proud to be a part of was a 10-minute play called Strawberry Shortcake! It was presented at the Boston Playwrights Marathon! It was a two-person play that was funny, deeply moving, and real, and I am so grateful I was able to be a part of it!
Who is a woman who has influenced, inspired, or empowered you—and why?
I have many, many inspirations that I could rave about, but I think I would have to go with my castmates! They continue to inspire me and push me to be the best performer and version of myself I could be!
What is something you know about yourself now that you didn't know when you were younger?
I think when I was younger, I didn't realize how important showing up for each other is. I think I realize now how important having a community who supports you and supports each other is and how much that can positively affect everyone!
What do you bring to your family, your work, your community, or the world that you believe matters?
I think I bring eagerness to learn more about things I may not be familiar with and my passion to help and advocate for issues whenever I can.
What is one thing you will never apologize for being?
I will never apologize for being happy and loud!
What makes you roar?
I think my passion is what makes me roar. The motivation and passion to continue telling important stories (like this one), to stand up for what I believe in, and to do what I love is a feeling that is truly unmatched and makes me feel the most like myself!
